Who we are to you

Zanii is a technology provider for the WhatsApp Business Platform. For your account — the people you invite, their email addresses, your billing — we are the controller. For the messages your business exchanges with its own customers, we are a processor acting on your instructions: that content is yours, and we do not use it to train anything or sell it to anybody.

What we hold

Account data: names, work email addresses, roles, and an audit record of what each person did in the console. Message data: the WhatsApp messages sent and received through your numbers, their delivery receipts, and the contacts they belong to. Billing data: what was sent, when, to which country and at what price.

We do not hold your WhatsApp access token in our database. It lives in a secrets manager, and the application reads it by reference — so a copy of the database is not a copy of your ability to send.

The transparency log, and what cannot be deleted

Actions the platform takes on your behalf are written to an append-only public log so that they can be verified without trusting us. That log is, by design, impossible to rewrite — so it never contains message content, contact details or any identifier that could be traced back to a person. It holds a salted hash: enough to prove a specific message was the one recorded, useless to anybody reading the log.

Erasure, and what survives it

A contact can ask you to delete what is held about them, and you can do that from the console. Their messages and profile are deleted. Accounting records are kept: UAE law requires financial records to be retained for five years, and we cannot delete them on request without breaking that. The retention is itself receipted, so a record that survives an erasure is evidenced as a legal obligation rather than looking like a deletion that failed.

Where the data sits

Message and account data are stored in the region we agree with you in writing. WhatsApp itself processes messages on Meta's infrastructure under Meta's own terms, which we do not control and which apply whichever platform you use.

Asking us about your data

Write to hello@zanii.agency. If you are a customer of one of our customers, they hold your data and we act on their instructions — we will pass your request to them and tell you we have.
